True Blood

I started watching True Blood from when it premiered up until the middle of the second season, when I left for college. Sadly our school dorms don't provide HBO, and I could never find the time to keep up with the show online. Miraculously though I've somehow managed to avoid any spoilers from second and third seasons, which is amazing considering how many of my friends love and watch the show. Luckily my cable service here at home has all the episodes I've missed so far on demand to watch at any time, so I'll probably be doing some marathon watching to catch up. It was one of my favorite shows on TV when I stopped watching, and one of the few decent shows left in general, so I'm looking forward to see what I've been missing.

Art: Mixed Media Portrait

This is a portrait I did for my mixed media class. We used a 'wash and lift' technique in which you sketch out your image, lay down a coat of acryllic paint, let it dry and then lay down a darker shade of water color paint. After that I took a wet brush and lifted out the highlights before adding in a brighter acryllic on top.

New Start

So I decided to give this blogging thing another try, I've tried before but could never find the time to update it. But I do enjoy checking out my friend's various blogs and I thought it'd be nice to have somewhere just post my thoughts, art and other random stuff. Right now I'm taking a break from art school, but I'll still be working on various projects to stay busy. I'll also be using this time to catch up on movies and TV shows I missed while I was away, so I'll post my thoughts and reviews on stuff I've seen. The design is still a work in progress but I should settle on a design I'm happy with soon. Hopefully this time I'll actually keep up the blog this time.
